There’s nothing like curling up with a good video game and a bag of chocolate. I’m all for those big series like Myst and Assassin’s Creed: I know I’ve played “too long” when I reach for another chocolate piece only to experience a crinkly pile of shiny wrappers and the inevitable despair of now having to burn off a million calories.
But I’ve found a few treasures, dusty games on the back shelf of a mysterious shop no one seems to notice, that capture the magic of the puzzle and the player. Enjoyable yet challenging games with likeable and realistic female characters. And here they are:
Keepsake
Syberia
Nancy Drew #1: Secrets Can Kill
As an avid gamer, I enjoyed your perspective on Keepsake. Although I found the different levels of puzzle difficulty refreshing, I can see your point. I totally agree with you about the inconsistent character development and the annoying user controls. BTW have you checked out The Longest Journey?
